Yarmouth's family-amenity flagship
A family favorite on Nantucket Sound with a playground, concession stand, and a gazebo that hosts a summer music series. The concrete seawall walk is great for strolling.
Parkers River is the family-amenity flagship of the Yarmouth south shore. The lot is large and pay-and-display (no sticker required), the bathhouse has proper restrooms and showers, the playground is excellent for younger kids, and the gazebo hosts the free Yarmouth summer concert series on Sunday evenings. The beach itself is a wide crescent of sound-warm water with a gentle slope and a concrete seawall promenade running along the back that's perfect for an evening stroll. Parkers River empties through the eastern end, creating a calm tidal channel. Lifeguards work the central swim area in summer. Pair with dinner at Captain Parker's Pub a quarter-mile inland (famous for clam chowder) or sunset cones at Smitty's Ice Cream. The most well-rounded Yarmouth beach experience.
