The locals' Crosby Landing
A quieter Brewster bay landing with a more intimate feel. The small lot keeps crowds down. At low tide, the flats connect to Crosby Landing for an epic walk.
Linnell Landing is the Crosby Landing locals know about but visitors rarely find. The lot is small, the cottage neighborhood is tight-knit, and the sticker booth thins crowds further. The beach itself is a low-key strip of fine sand with the same shimmering Brewster Flats at low tide — and that's the secret. At dead low, you can walk east along the flats and join Crosby Landing's huge sand-plain, or west toward Ellis and Breakwater. It's one of the most rewarding low-tide ambles on the Cape, and you'll often have it to yourself. The water is bath-warm by August, the swimming gentle, and the sunsets characteristically Brewster. Best paired with a Nickerson State Park bike ride along the Cape Cod Rail Trail, with which it shares parking proximity. Off-season is sublime — even on a perfect October Saturday you'll see maybe ten people.
