A Dennis Port sound-side beach with warm Nantucket Sound water. Small and family-oriented with a relaxed residential neighborhood surrounding it.
Haigis Beach is another of Dennis Port's pocket neighborhood beaches on Nantucket Sound — small, quiet, and almost exclusively used by locals and short-term renters in the surrounding streets. The sound water here is bath-warm by August and very gentle, with low rolling waves that toddlers can wade through. The parking lot is tight, the dune crossover is short, and there are no facilities. Pair Haigis with a stop at Sundae School ice cream a mile up Lower County Road and you've got a complete Dennis Port summer evening. The beach faces south, so it gets full sun all day; bring an umbrella or expect to roast.
