Which Cape Cod beaches have beach wheelchairs?
Most beaches on this list keep at least one beach wheelchair — the balloon-tire kind that rolls over soft sand — available to borrow, usually free. Availability is typically first-come or reserved through the town, so calling the beach or recreation department a day ahead is the reliable move in July and August.
What is a Mobi-Mat?
A roll-out mesh walkway laid over the soft sand, firm enough for wheelchairs, strollers, and anyone unsteady on loose sand. It usually runs from the parking lot or ramp toward the high-tide line, cutting the hardest part of the crossing to the water.
Is beach parking accessible?
The beaches here mark accessible spaces close to the ramp or Mobi-Mat — each beach page on this site shows the count on record. Arrive early on summer weekends; accessible spaces are limited and are not held back from the general lot-full cutoff.
